What is your teaching discipline?

Mathematics

What brought you to the area?

My husband was in the military and was transferred to this area. When he left the military, we were very happy to continue living in Williamsburg.

What is your teaching philosophy?

*Presenting a topic in an organized fashion is one of the best ways to teach someone something new.
*One of the biggest hurdles to learning math is having the time to practice it.
*When a student struggles to do well on tests, he/she often just needs to learn a new studying technique. I enjoy helping students find a way to study that makes math successful for them.

What do you hope your students take away from your courses?

The empowerment that they can master a difficult subject; and the ability to question and problem solve.

What do you like to do on the weekends?

Take my daughter to the park, do a home improvement project, or watch a movie with my husband.

What is the most memorable place you have traveled to?

Europe...Italy, France, England.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

Ingredients for home cooked meals and leftovers for lunches.

What makes you laugh out loud?

Jokes that make you laugh because of an intelligent twist; my daughter's latest new saying.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Master's degree in Mathematics - definitely one of the toughest things I've done.

What is your greatest extravagance?

A grand piano that I moved to Williamsburg with me from Rochester, New York.

Who is your hero?

Students who juggle an amazing amount of things...work, family, school, etc.
