Clubs & Organizations

Student clubs and organizations at Virginia Peninsula Community College offer students with similar interests to connect, meet new people, gain valuable experience, and assume leadership roles. Student Clubs and Organizations are open to currently enrolled students who are interested in supporting the mission.

How to Establish a New Student Club or Student Organization at VPCC
  • Determine if your group is a student club or student organization
    • Student Clubs – Groups of students with similar interests.
    • Student Organizations – Student groups that are affiliated with a national organization.
      • Student organizations must follow the constitution of their national parent organization.
      • Student organizations must establish by-laws for their VPCC chapter, instead of a constitution. ·
  • Complete the New Club/Organization Registration Form (Found on the Students Life and Leadership page in Canvas) and attend the New Clubs & Organizations Meeting on September 8 at 12 pm via Zoom.
  • Each club must have a faculty/staff advisor. Any part-time or full-time college employee may serve as a club advisor.
  • Meet with the advisor to draft the club constitution or student organization by-laws.
  • Schedule an Interest Meeting (advisor must reserve the room and attend the meeting).
    • Recruit interested students. A club must have at least 5 currently enrolled members to obtain official recognition.
    • Review the constitution or by-laws with members and have them vote to approve (ratify) them.
    • Elect officers, set meeting dates and discuss club/organization activities. o Complete the VPCC Student Clubs & Organizations Application.
      • Information needed from members and advisors to complete the application:
        • Name
        • VPCC Student ID number
        • Student Email Address (MyVPCC login @email.vccs.edu)
        • Advisor(s) – Name and VPCC Email Address
  • Send the Student Club/Organization Application (Found on the Students Life and Leadership page in Canvas) and the approved club constitution and/or by-laws to Kadisia Archer in the Office of Student Life and Leadership at studentlife@vpcc.edu.

Please Note: Student clubs and organization must be accessible to all students who meet the membership qualifications. The Office of Student Life and leadership will create a Canvas page for the club or organization participants to interact.
