Men's Basketball Named Conference Favorite

The Gators men's basketball team had a lot to celebrate last year. The team's defense of the conference title gets underway soon.

Coming off an 18-1 season capped by a conference championship, the Virginia Peninsula Community College men's basketball team was picked to win it all again in the 2022-23 season.

In the preseason poll, conducted by coaches from the six New South Athletic Conference teams, the Gators earned 23 points overall and three first-place votes. The Apprentice School was second with 20 points (also three first-place votes), followed by Mid-Atlantic Christian University (18 points), Carolina Christian (12), Blue Lights College (10) and Central International (7).
