The College's summer bridge program JumpStart will welcome nearly 50 participants this month for interactive four-day experiences at campuses in Hampton and Williamsburg. Open to ages 18-24, the program aims to improve incoming students' academic skills, help them understand the College's expectations and more.

JumpStart runs Aug. 2-5 at the Historic Triangle with 20 students while sessions in Hampton will run Aug. 9-12 with 26.

Students will enjoy cohort learning groups, team-building activities and receive guidance by peer mentors. Participants will also take SDV 100: College Success Skills, create individualized academic plans and take advantage of in-depth career exploration. JumpStart will also connect participants with various resources throughout the College to help them succeed.
