Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., on behalf of Virginia Peninsula Community College student Marla Petty, established the scholarship in 2006. Marla Petty participated in a project called "Business Plan for Changes for Women" as part of an Introduction to Business class. One component of Marla's business plan was to present a scholarship to a woman who might not be able to afford to go to Virginia Peninsula. Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. honored this request by providing the monies Marla requested.
Requirements
- Female student;
- Must be pursuing a degree or certificate in business; and
- Eligible students, taking at least three hours per semester, must have completed six hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
