Hand Raise

Take the Lead in Your Journey by Raising Your Hand

A Hand Raise is a proactive feature within Navigate that allows you to directly notify VPCC staff when you need assistance. While Early Alerts are often initiated by faculty members, a Hand Raise can be submitted by you at any time, empowering you to seek support before challenges become barriers to your success.

Whether you have academic, financial, personal, or basic needs concerns, raising your hand is a simple way to connect with the resources and support services available to help you achieve your goals.

When to Raise Your Hand

This feature is available to all active students and can be used for a variety of needs, including:

  • Academic Guidance – I Need Help Changing My Program.” or “I need help with my academic plan”
  • Financial Assistance – “I Need Help Making a Payment” for tuition, fees, or other college-related expenses.
  • Well-Being & Basic Needs – “I’m Feeling Overwhelmed” by stress or personal challenges, or “I Need Help with Basic Needs” such as food security, transportation, housing, or other essential resources.
  • Course Performance –”I Need Tutoring Support.”

Our Commitment to You

When a Hand Raise is submitted, VPCC staff will review your request and connect you with the appropriate support services.

Our goal is to:

  • Begin initial outreach within 48 hours of receiving the Hand Raise.
  • Connect you with the appropriate campus resources and support services.
  • Resolve Hand Raise cases within one week, whenever possible, to help you get back on track and continue progressing toward your academic goals.

Your success is important to us, and we encourage you to seek assistance as soon as you need it. Asking for help is a sign of strength and an important step toward achieving your educational goals.
