Welcome to Virginia Peninsula Community College! Starting your college journey is an exciting step, and our New Student Orientation (NSO) program is designed to set you up for success. Whether you’re a first-time student, returning to continue your education, attending full or part time, our orientation sessions provide essential information about campus resources, academic programs, student support services, and more.
Fall 2026 New Student Orientation is full, and registration has closed.
If you were unable to attend an in-person orientation, don’t worry! All students have access to the New Student Orientation course in Canvas. Be sure to review all course modules, including the recorded Fall 2026 orientation presentation, which will be available before the start of classes.
Things you can check off your list while preparing for orientation:
- Register for classes through SIS in the myVPCC portal.
- Complete the FAFSA to apply for Financial Aid.
- Check your “To Do” list through the myVPCC portal for requests and news from Financial Aid
- After registration, check your VCCS e-mail (found in myVPCC) regularly. This is how the College will send communications.
- Make a plan for payment (if needed)
- Apply for VPCC Foundation Scholarships
- Set up an appointment with your advisor (not required, but highly recommended)
- Using VA benefits? Get in touch with Military and Veterans Services.
- Transferring credit to VPCC? Make sure you’ve taken steps to let us know.
