Congratulations on your conditional acceptance! You’ve completed the first major step—now you must complete the remaining requirements to finalize your admission.

Mandatory New Student Nursing Orientation

Date: December 4, 2026 Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Location: Historic Triangle Campus, Room 309 4601 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg, VA 23188

What to Bring on Orientation Day

  • Print the instructions included in your acceptance email.
  • Bring your nursing packet and all emailed forms fully completed.
    • Forms may be filled out electronically, but signatures must be handwritten.
  • Bring note‑taking materials; the information provided will be essential for your first week.
  • Dress comfortably
  • Snacks and water will be available, but you may bring your own food.
    • There will be no time to leave campus for lunch or food pickup.

Additional Admissions Requirements

1. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

All students must complete AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

  • Only American Heart Association courses are accepted.
  • CPR courses from Red Cross or other organizations cannot be used.
  • This requirement is mandated by the program and the Virginia Board of Nursing.

2. Physical Exam & Immunization Documentation

You must submit the VPCC Physical Exam Form provided in your acceptance email.

  • The form must be completed and signed by your healthcare provider.
  • The provider’s official office/clinic stamp is required.

Important Notes

  • Page 4 of the physical packet is not official documentation.
    • It is only a checklist.
    • Do not upload Page 4 as proof of immunizations—it will be rejected.

Required Immunization Documentation

Upload official records from your provider, clinic, pharmacy, or health department showing:

  • MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • History of chickenpox is not accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: 3 vaccines or positive titer
  • Tdap: Current (valid for 10 years)
  • Flu Shot (2026–2027):
    • Must be 0.5 ml IM
    • No intranasal flu vaccines (these restrict clinical placement)
    • Submit the VPCC Flu Consent Form and documentation including:
      • Date administered
      • Lot number
      • Expiration date
      • Provider signature

COVID‑19 Vaccination

COVID‑19 vaccination is no longer required by all clinical sites.

  • Students may complete the vaccination series or submit a waiver if permitted by the clinical partner.

3. Tuberculosis Screening

Submit one of the following:

Option A: IGRA Blood Test

  • Quantiferon‑TB Gold
  • T‑Spot TB Test
  • Include results and complete the TB Survey on the VPCC PPD form.

Option B: 2‑Step PPD Skin Test

  • Complete the TB Survey
  • Provider completes Step 1
  • Return in 2 weeks for Step 2
  • Provider completes both boxes on the VPCC PPD form

If Positive:

Submit:

  • Positive test documentation
  • Negative chest X‑ray results
  • Completed TB Survey
