High School students in a VPCC classroom.

Transition from High School

Virginia Peninsula Community College’s Dual Enrollment program provides high school students with an incredible opportunity to jump-start their college education. Designed for juniors and seniors, this program allows students to earn college credits while fulfilling high school graduation requirements — all from the convenience of their own high school classrooms.

If a dual enrollment student wants to continue their education with VPCC after high school graduation they need to follow these steps:

STEP 1Take the VPCC Enrollment Survey to update your student info
You will use your myVPCC username and password and list your GPA and highest math taken. Do not select “none of these.”
STEP 2Identify a Program of Study/ major
All VPCC degrees and certificate programs are found in the VPCC College Catalog. Choose the catalog year then “Degrees and Programs.” Email us should you have questions.
STEP 3Fill out the Program Plan Declaration Form with your new Program of Study/major
Send the completed, signed form to your Dual Enrollment Coordinator’s email listed on the form.
STEP 4Fill out the FAFSA for Financial Aid for the upcoming school year
We offer scholarships — complete the VPCC scholarship application.
STEP 5Make an appointment with your Academic Advisor using Navigate
Login to myVPCC and select the EAB Navigate tile then Appointments. Make an appointment ASAP with Office of Accessibility if you need any accommodations for your classes.
STEP 6Register for Fall classes
Use the Academic Calendar to see the registration and tuition payment dates. Pay for your classes or have Financial Aid set up by deadline.
STEP 7Send VPCC an official high school transcript Request that your high school send VPCC a transcript after you graduate high school.
STEP 8Sign up for New Student Orientation Orientation takes place a few weeks before the semester begins. Continue to check your student email to be notified when registration opens.
