How to Register with Us
1- Upload your documentation securely with our end-to-end file transfer process Upload Documentation Securely
2- Complete the Student Intake Form.
3- An OAS staff member will contact you once both your documentation and intake form have been received, if you have not received a phone call within two business days, please email oas@vpcc.edu with “Registration Status Request” in the subject line.
4- You will be scheduled for your intake appointment to officially register with our office and to be provided with accommodation(s).
5- During your intake appointment you will be provided with instructions to request your LOA. Please allow up to three business days to receive your LOA in your student email. You will receive an LOA for each class on your schedule. Your specific disability WILL NOT be noted in the letter. It is your decision to disclose or not to disclose the nature of your disability.
6- Provide your LOA to your instructors. Once you have submitted your LOA to your instructor (it is strongly recommended that you with your instructor to review the accommodations) both you and the instructor may sign the letter and email them to OAS@vpcc.edu.
By law, you do not have to tell your instructor the nature of your disability.
Accommodation begins at the time you give the letter to the instructor. If you forget, or choose to wait, accommodation will not be provided for anything which occurred before the instructor received the LOA notification.
Contact Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) if problems occur. We are here to assist you if there are any problems regarding your accommodation, but it is your responsibility to let us know.
