Virginia Peninsula Community College is thrilled to announce its inaugural Williamsburg Comicon, a vibrant event celebrating the diverse world of comics, pop culture, and creativity.
The March 7 event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the College’s Historic Triangle Campus in Williamsburg at 4601 Opportunity Way. There is no admission charge.
The one-day festival invites fans, artists, students and families from across the region to immerse themselves in an exciting lineup of activities, including:
- Panels and workshops on D&D, comic creation, cosplay craftsmanship, and more
- Cosplay contests with prizes for the most imaginative and skillful costumes
- Vendor marketplace featuring local artists, comic book sellers, and unique merchandise
- Family-friendly activities and interactive exhibits designed to inspire creativity and community engagement.
“We are excited to bring the magic of the comic con to Virginia Peninsula Community College,” said Eric Pesola, the College’s director of marketing and college relations. “This event is more than just a celebration of comics and pop culture. It’s an opportunity to foster creativity, inclusivity, and connection among students and community members of all ages.”
The event is hosted by VPCC and is the result of a partnership with local business owner and creator John Millington, owner of Jersey’s Comics and Cards shops in Hampton, Yorktown and Gloucester. Millington also operates Conquest Publishing, which is involved in many creative endeavors, including videos, comics and music.
While the Williamsburg Comicon is free to attend, organizers request those planning to attend to register in advance at www.williamsburgcomicon.com.
