
Kevin Darcy
Men’s soccer: Darcy is the program’s first coach, taking the position May 4, 2023, as the Gators added the sport in the fall 2023 season.
Darcy also is the director of coaching on the Peninsula for Virginia Rush Soccer Club, and has worked with Virginia Legacy, Tidewater Sharks and Chesterfield United in technical director positions.
His collegiate coaching experience includes serving as the head coach for the Hampton University women, an assistant for the William & Mary women, and an assistant men’s coach at Salisbury State.
On the high school level, he coached the boys’ soccer team at Hampton Roads Academy in 2021-22, leading the team to 25 wins in two years and being named the TCIS Coach of the Year in 2022. He has been a high school coach of the year eight times in Maryland and Virginia.
Internationally, Darcy has coached with RUSH Select in Germany, PUMA Pro Select in Brazil; in Costa Rica and Czech Republic with Virginia ODP state teams and was selected among six coaches nationally to the USL Pro Experience staff in Cincinnati 2016.
His minor-league professional coaching experience includes leading the Legacy 76 squad to the 2017 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament after winning the Mid-Atlantic Conference championship. His teams also qualified for the regional playoffs in 2016 and 2017 as a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). In addition, he has served as the head coach and general manager for the USL D3 Pro Leagues Eastern Shore Sharks (Md.), USL’s PDL Virginia Legacy, the PASL Tidewater Sharks men, the WPSL Tidewater Sharks women's team and Virginia FC of the UWS United Women’s Soccer League.
He has an “A” coaching license, and played professionally in the USL, and in college at Salisbury State and Old Dominion University.
Darcy and his wife, Erin, reside in Williamsburg. They have three daughters (Meghan, Allison and Courtney) and four grandchildren.
