DESCRIPTION:You are invited to visit the Color of Freedom Military Women’s Memorial traveling exhibit in the library in Kecoughtan Hall on our Hampton Campus. It will be available for viewing throughout the month of November. It will open to all starting on November 3. \nThe Military Women’s Memorial is just outside Arlington National Cemetery’s ceremonial entrance near Washington\, D.C.\, and includes a standing exhibit called Color of Freedom. The event will feature gently used or new items needed for men\, women\, and children\, including: \n\nclothing\nsuits\nprofessional attire\njackets\nshoes\nlunch bags\nbackpacks\ntoiletries\naccessories\nchildren’s books\nand more!\n\nWe’re collecting items for the Pop-Up Clothes Closet on November 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kecoughtan Hall Gallery on our Hampton Campus. \nWe’ll distribute items to all on November 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and November 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kecoughtan Hall Gallery on our Hampton Campus. ALL ITEMS ARE FREE. \nWe will donate remaining items to various nonprofit groups and thrift stores after the event. DESCRIPTION:VPCC’s Society of the Performing Arts is pleased to welcome Stan’s Big Band as part of National Veterans and Military Families Month. All are welcome at this family-friendly free concert. Join us on Thursday\, November 20th\, on our Hampton campus in Kecoughtan Hall in the Library. Doors open at 6:30pm\, show begins at 7pm. Its instrumentation\, including two vocalists\, is that of the traditional 18-piece jazz orchestra of the 1940’s big bands. The band’s music\, however\, spans from the traditional ”swing” era to contemporary music performed in Latin\, Jazz fusion\, Funk\, and Rock styles.\n\nStan’s Big Band is committed to keeping\, live\, and particularly big band music\, alive through performing at schools\, festivals\, concerts\, and community events.
