Basic RiderCourse2 (BRC2) – License Waiver:This course is designed for participants who are already possess basic riding skills but want extra practice or to attain their motorcycle license. The BRC2 is not for a novice rider who is learning to ride for the first time. The BRC2 includes the following:eCourse Online learning module which must be completed before attending the on-motorcycle instruction.Range Exercises The on-motorcycle portion of the class consists of exercises designed to help you further refine your motorcycle handling skills and grow your confidence in your riding ability. The course includes a Skills Test Evaluation necessary to qualify for a motorcycle license in Virginia. Range time varies depending on participant needs though generally takes six hours to complete.Eligibility Requirements for the BRC2 License Waiver: Previous successful completion of a Basic RiderCourse (BRC);OR2. A rider has sufficient skill to perform basic maneuvering and handling skills such as:Start out in 1st gear, maintain balance, change gears, demonstrate clutch, throttle, brake use and basic turning procedures, etc.Note: Riding skills are assessed during the first exercise. A rider may be dismissed if unable to demonstrate proficiency with basic motorcycle operating skills. Instructor(s) conducting the course are responsible for making this determination. If the Instructor(s) determine that a rider needs additional skills development before proceeding, the rider can be referred to a BRC, IME, or another program, as appropriate.Equipment: Motorcycles: This course is intended to be completed on a riders own safe, street-ready motorcycle. Personally owned motorcycles must have a current Virginia inspection; Proof of Ownership/Registration; Proof of Insurance; And Pass an Instructor T-CLOCS inspection.VPCC training motorcycles may be available but cannot be guaranteed.Students must provide:Over the ankle boots Sturdy over the ankle boots with a non-skid sole.Sturdy pants Denim or durable withNOrips, tears, or holes. Skin must be fully covered and protected.Long sleeves shirt or jacket Please choose an appropriate shirt, jacket, etc. for the weather.Full finger gloves The gloves must cover the whole hand front and back.DOT approved helmet Instructors will determine whether personal helmets meet course safety requirementsEye protection Sunglasses or prescription glasses are sufficient Be prepared with rain gear or layers of clothing as needed, snacks and water, etc.
